Filipinos usually have flat noses, dark upper lip, tan skin, hooded eyelids, thin lashes, brown eyes, sparse eyebrows, and round faces. At least, that’s what I’ve observed from the majority.

It isn’t easy to tell who is a pure Filipino in this day and age. There are millions of Filipinos scattered around the globe, resulting in a host of mixed Filipino children. At this point, we’re a melting pot of different ethnicities.

In the Philippines, many Filipinos have mixed ancestry dating back from the colonial period. A Filipino may have all the qualities stated above, but there’s a chance that they have Chinese or Spanish blood, resulting in physical Chinese or Spanish features.

However, Filipinos predominantly share similar traits with the Malays. We share many physical traits with Malaysians, Indonesians, and Thai. Most Southeast Asians look quite similar to each other, so it’s quite common to mistake one for another.
